Will Ferrell and Video Games

Anchorman Classic Moment

From Montreal Gazette

Funnyman Will Ferrell is set to cannonball into videogames.

Well, not Ferrell exactly. But Ferrell’s YouTube-ish website, Funny or Die, is planning a spin-off into the big bad world of gaming, according to Funny or Die CEO Dick Glover.

NewTeeVee reports the one-year-old website has plans to poke its funny bone into “action sports,” “region comedy” (whatever that means) and videogames.

Says Glover:

“The videogame site will not be a game-playing site. If we became a game-playing site, that actually limits who we could partner with, who we could align with and advertisers we could get.

“We want to do a very broad-based site. Whether you’re my age and playing Pac-Man is your idea of a videogame, or you’re younger and at the highest levels of Halo 3, or you’re in a retirement home, we’re going to have something for you on this site.”

Hey, it’s only half as weird as it sounds. If Internet tough guy and “thousandaire” Strong Bad can pound his way onto WiiWare, then surely there’s space enough for Ferrell’s Funny or Die.

I am a normal guy who loves to play video games. My current favorite system is the Xbox 360 and the game I am stuck on (read addicted to) right now is Rock Band. I also have a Wii along with most of the consoles from the past, such as a Super Nintendo, original NES, and a Sega Dreamcast.
