With the Nintendo Wii being such a big hit it is causing other software/hardware companies to explore the possibilities of interactive gaming. One of these companies, Softkinetic, is working on a project that would allow us gamers to control the on screen movements of our characters by using a wide range of what they call “natural movements”. Depth-sensing cameras paired with Softkinetic’s software will be used to calculate a players body position and movements to make this interactive gaming possible.

Whole Body Gaming“You don’t need a controller in your hand,” says CEO Michel Tombroff. “You don’t need to wear a special outfit. You just come in front of the camera in your living room, and you start playing by moving your entire body.”

I am a normal guy who loves to play video games. My current favorite system is the Xbox 360 and the game I am stuck on (read addicted to) right now is Rock Band. I also have a Wii along with most of the consoles from the past, such as a Super Nintendo, original NES, and a Sega Dreamcast.
