Rock Bands releasing songs through video games
I came across an article today and have learned that some Rock Bands are going to start releasing songs through video games. Honestly I don’t really see this as much of a surprise, being that bands such as Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails have already released their new albums on their own websites. Motley Crue is known to be the first band releasing a song through a video game, their song “Saints of Los Angeles” is now available on Xbox Live and Playstation Store for downloading.
Talk is also going around that Def Leppard is going to put out a new single through Guitar Hero III. The plan is they are going to release a song pack that includes some classics, such as “Rock of Ages” and “Photograph”, and also include their new single called “Nine Lives”. This is said to be available for download for Guitar Hero III on Xbox Live on April 24 and May 8 for the Playstation 3. Not sure why they are releasing them at different times, but hey, whatever works.
Good news for all Metallica fans as rumor has it that the famous rock band has already met with MTV Games about releasing their next single to us Rock Band addicts.
What do you guys think? Do you think this is a smart move by the bands?
