Blockbuster to offer more video games at its US stores

Here is some news that I found interesting. Looks like we could be looking at the beginning of “Buster Circuit” lol… Anyone else have any suggestions for a name of a combo Blockbuster/Circuit City?

The Associated Press April 28, 2008, 7:36AM ET

Blockbuster Inc. said Monday it is putting more video games and game hardware into its domestic corporate-owned stores in an attempt to expand that area of its business.

The movie rental company said the expansion will allow customers to buy games, hardware and accessories for the Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS game systems at its stores.

Blockbuster also plans to offer more video game rental options.

The move comes shortly after Blockbuster made a hostile takeover bid of just over $1 billion for Circuit City Stores Inc. in hopes of creating a huge chain that would sell electronic gadgets and rent movies and games.

Richmond, Va.-based Circuit City, the nation’s second biggest consumer electronics chain, is among the top games retailers.

I am a normal guy who loves to play video games. My current favorite system is the Xbox 360 and the game I am stuck on (read addicted to) right now is Rock Band. I also have a Wii along with most of the consoles from the past, such as a Super Nintendo, original NES, and a Sega Dreamcast.
