    By alldaygamer | July 3, 2008

    via videogamesblogger

    Tom Clancy's GRAW 3 teaser

    Something you might’ve missed on the Ubidays 2008 event back on May 28th was the below “10 Years of Tom Clancy Games” trailer. Not only does it briefly show past games, it also touts hints at unannounced upcoming Tom Clancy games with the line: “The Future Will Be Explosive.” The CGI footage shows Rainbow Six: Vegas 3, GRAW 3 (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 3), Splinter Cell (Conviction?), and HAWX (High Altitude Warfare Experimental Squadron).

    After 10 years of best-selling games, what’s next? Watch this Tom Clancy trailer to see for yourself.

    As part of Ubisoft’s earnings report a month ago, the developer mentioned it had a pair of unannounced sequels in existing franchises set for release by the end of March 2009.

    With Ubisoft not having announced their E3 2008 lineup yet, could this be part of their unveilings come July 15?

    PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.4 walkthrough videos. Release on July 2

    By alldaygamer | July 2, 2008

    The PS3 Firmware 2.4 update is scheduled for release on July 2nd and since that is today, here are some videos giving you a look at all the enhancements that are coming courtesy of the extensive update, which includes the long awaited in-game XMB (Cross Media Bar) access and Trophy support!

    This first video will walk you through in-game XMB access.

    This second video will walk you through the Trophy system!

    Some more news regarding this:

    Super Stardust HD will be the first game to leverage the new Trophy system and will offer a variety of trophies. Trophy support in Super Stardust HD will be available for first-time users who purchase the game soon after firmware v2.40 is released, while those who previously purchased and downloaded the title will be prompted to install a free patch.

    It’s important to note that just because the Trophy system has been activated, that doesn’t mean that you will automatically be able to earn Trophies in the games you’ve played. You must download a Trophy patch that activates the feature. Though Sony has said that 70% of already released games are compatible with the Trophy system according to the July issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK.

    PS3 users can expect to see additional games bringing Trophy support to their feature sets through 2008 and beyond, providing even greater opportunity to showcase your accomplishments and compete with friends.

    Here’s a list of first-party Sony games that are also slated to offer Trophy support:

    * BUZZ! Quiz TV
    * LittleBigPlanet
    * MotorStorm Pacific Rift
    * NBA 09 - PS3
    * PAIN
    * PixelJunk Eden
    * Resistance 2
    * SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation
    * Warhawk

    To further emphasize the community aspects of this system software update, the amount of people you can add to your PSN friends list has been doubled to 100.

    The update also adds a mini-control panel that you can use while playing music and an internet search feature powered by Google that allows you to initiate search directly from the XMB (similar to what we added to the PSP recently). In addition, when you’re using the XMB or accessing the XMB from in-game, the current time and date will be displayed in the upper right hand corner, in addition to a few other small enhancements.

    Rock Band 2 officially announced for September 2008 in America

    By alldaygamer | July 1, 2008

    Rock Band on WiiRock Band 2 has been officially announced for a timed Xbox 360-exclusive release this September (in the U.S., but apparently not in Europe) with a PS3 release later this year. Other platforms have yet to be confirmed.

    Harmonix lead designer Dan Teasdale told IGN that all Rock Band downloadable content will also work in Rock Band 2 and teased that new features are planned to allow you to play with your DLC “in different ways”.

    What’s also interesting is that new downloadable content released after Rock Band 2 can be played on the “Rock Band platform”. You see, Harmonix treats Rock Band as it’s own iTunes-style service. So when they say “Rock Band platform”, that means that anything you download can be played using either Rock Band game. Very cool. Teasdale also said that the dreaded profile switching issue in the original Rock Band is being examined and corrected for a more streamlined rocking experience.

    Rock Band 2 Stratocaster Guitar

    Instruments from the original game will also work on the sequel, which won’t contain any new instruments, but the instruments themselves will have cosmetic changes that make them different, which also means that your original Rock Band set of instruments will work with Rock Band 2. He also teased at the possibility of online play for World Tour and multiple users on vocal instruments.

    Here’s a list of the top 10 bands Teasdale hinted he would like to see in Rock Band 2.

    1. Agent Orange
    2. The Beatles
    3. Built to Spill
    4. The Buzzcocks
    5. Journey
    6. Led Zeppelin
    7. Modest Mouse
    8. Pavement
    9. The Replacements
    10. Tool

    We Love Golf pre-order bonus: Wii Remote carrying case at Capcom

    By alldaygamer | July 1, 2008

    We Love Golf Red Wii Remote Carrying Case

    via VideoGamesBlogger

    We Love Golf Red Wii Remote Carrying Case
    We Love Golf for Wii is scheduled for release on July 15th, and if you pre-order now at Gamestop, Game Crazy, Circuit City, Toys R Us, the Official Capcom Store, and several other retailers you will get a free red, zippy storage baggy to hold your Wii Remote. It can even hook on to your keychain or belt for easy carrying to a friends house! Or who knows, maybe you can tote the Wii Remote with you 24/7 wherever you go. Even sleep with it. Since it now has it’s own little sleeping bag. I’m sure the Wii makes a great bed-fellow.

    Ahem. Not that I’d know anything about that . . . Oh and by the way, the Wii Remote is NOT included. But still, it’s a cool little bonus that will definitely make golfing fans happy. Personally I wouldn’t mind having one of those little carrying cases for all four of my Wii Remotes.

    Here’s a We Love Golf producer walkthrough video which shows off the modes, characters and gameplay. The American version will have two new characters added to the line-up for a total of 48, including “star” characters from other popular Capcom games such as Chun Li and Ryu from Street Fighter, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil, Zack from Zack & Wiki and characters from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney 4!

    Madden NFL 09 News and New Features Along with Video

    By alldaygamer | June 30, 2008

    Brett Farve Madden 09

    As you most of you already know Madden NFL 09 will be coming out this August. Let’s go ahead and talk about it a little bit (and then we will get to the new features and even a video).

    Madden 09 was developed by EA Tiburon and published by EA Sports and is in its 20th year. Madden 09 will be released on the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP and DS and will feature Brett Farve on the cover. Having Brett Farve on the cover is significant for several reasons. One, he breaks the “Madden Curse” and two, this makes him the first inactive to grace the cover since John Madden himself. Also, as of right now no PC version has been announced, which kind of sucks in my opinion.

    As mentioned before this is the 20th year of Madden so to celebrate that (and to try and make some more $) 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition of Madden NFL 09 will also be released. This special edition will include NFL Head Coach 09, exclusive classic Madden NFL gameplay and bonus video content, among other things, and will be released alongside the regular version. Madden NFL 09 is scheduled for release on August 12th in the U.S., and August 15th in Europe.

    The new features in Madden NFL 09 include: Read the rest of this entry »

    Dwayne Bowe IGN Interview

    By alldaygamer | June 20, 2008

    Here is a recent interview with Dwayne Bowe conducted by Bill Barnwell over at IGN.com. D-Bowe talks about rookies, football and video games. Interview pasted below for your enjoyment.

    “Second-year Chiefs wideout Dwayne Bowe does not need to prove himself this offseason. After a stellar rookie campaign, Bowe could easily have spent his summer poolside sipping martinis. Instead, he’s trying to establish himself in two different arenas. Not only was Bowe at the rookie event to support fellow teammates Branden Albert and Glenn Dorsey, but he also spoke to us to hype up his skills in Halo. Of course, that got us thinking about a match with a certain sports star who also partakes in Halo now and then: Agent Zero. We’re working on negotiating the terms of Bowe vs. Arenas, but until then, you can check out our entertaining interview with the man with the diamond Blackberry around his neck.”

    IGN: Dwayne Bowe! You’re not a rookie. What are you doing here?

    Dwayne Bowe: I’m just here to support the incoming draft class, just like Reggie [Bush] and Vince [Young] were doing my year. I just wanna show that we support these guys cause they’re the future. I just wanna show my face and let them know I’m human.

    Don King Presents Prizefighter Open Letter to 2K Sports

    By alldaygamer | June 15, 2008

    Chris from GamerOverBoard.com is back with another guest post. This is a open letter he sent to 2K Sports regarding Don King Presents Prizefighter.
    Here it is:

    First, I’d like to thank you for delivering the most realistic boxing experience to date in Don King Presents: Prizefighter (DKPP). In spite of the less than stellar reviews that it garnered, true boxing fans appreciate your efforts in keeping the integrity of the sport in tact. While the game is not perfect, its core mechanics are just what boxing enthusiasts have been asking for, such as the realistic stamina and truly challenging A.I. that makes each bout against the CPU feel like an actual boxing match rather than beating on a human punching bag. Prizefighter is a terrific boxing simulation and the more time I spend playing it, the better it gets. It’s just a shame that 99% of video game websites do not understand the sweet science and miss the point entirely in what 2K achieved with Prizefighter.
